‘Rocky Hill, Fireman’ Book Launch and Book Signing

Booknuts in White Plains, MD is launching new author, James Burd Brewster, and his Rocky Hill, Fireman Children’s book series with a book signing on Saturday, 3 Aug from 11:00 – 2:00.

Rocky Hill, Fireman, is a series of stories that Mr. Brewster told to his two oldest sons, Ben and Luke, every night before bedtime.  The stories describe the adventures of a fire fighter named Rocky Hill and his two nephews who quite coincidentally were named Ben and Luke.  The boys  were 6 and 4 1/2 at the time.  They are now 29 and 27.

Twenty-three years after creating these stories, Mr. Brewster has published the first three stories in the series as 32 page illustrated children’s picture books.  He has over 50 planned.

Apart or together Uncle Rocky, Ben, or Luke fight fires, promote fire safety, rescue people, and help neighbors.  The stories emphasize service to others and devotion to duty with each story ending with Uncle Rocky giving his trademark statement, “Glad to do it!

In Rocky Hill Fireman #1 – Fire!, the first book, new firefighter, Rocky Hill, arrives at his first fire and is confronted by a frantic mother shouting, “Save my Baby, Save My Baby.” While his partners attack the fire Rocky, his heart pounding with the urgency of the situation, crawls through the upstairs searching for the baby trapped in her crib.

“I can’t tell you how pleased I am to have the series finally started with these three books,” said Mr. Brewster.  “I enjoyed telling  the stories to Ben and Luke  and hope other families will have the same fun we had.”
