Writing for the Web

Doesn’t matter if you’re a poet, a writer of fiction, or a journalist — sooner or later we’ll all be writing on the Web. At our February meeting, Cara Fogarty, a web writer and editor, will present an overview of Web writing options, and provide tips and techniques.

Cara creates and manages content for several Web sites, including the Greenwell Foundation, the Organization of News Ombudsmen, and our own chapter of the MWA. She also created and teaches “Writing and Editing for the Web,” an online class at the College of Southern Maryland.

Her background as a journalist includes working as a news producer for the Mutual Broadcasting Network/NBC Radio, writing and editing Web content for NPR, and reporting for several radio stations in New York and Ohio.

Put it on your calendar–Wednesday, 2/19, BI 124, La Plata Campus of CSMD. And remember, if the weather is iffy, be sure to phone 301-369-1999 to be sure the college is open.
