November is National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo.
This is a free program that encourages/helps/guides/pushes you to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days
. Sounds daunting maybe, but it is tons of fun. Several of our members are participating in the NaNoWriMo project. If you want to learn more head over to the NaNoWriMo
Also, the St. Mary’s County Library
is participating in the NaNoWriMo project this year. On October 28th
they are having a kickoff event from 10am to 4pm. Check here for more information!
CSM Creative Writing Professor John Kulikowski gave a presentation on current trends in publishing. Thank you to Mr. Kulikowski for his insight, we all enjoyed it!
Bad weather postponed our February gathering so we will try again in March! The book group will meet on March 23 at 6:00 at El Dorado in La Plata to discuss The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. Come for the discussion or come for the margaritas. Either way you’ll have a good time!
This month, instead of discussing a book we’ve all read, each person will talk about a book they recommend to others. Join us on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 6pm at El Dorado in La Plata!
